NILE RODGERS WORKING WITH DAVID GUETTAFUENTE: Mixmag
First Daft Punk, then Avicii and Chase & Status and Tensnake. Now Nile Rodgers has revealed his next high profile collaboration: David Guetta.
The legendary Chic guitarist and star of Daft Punk's new hit single 'Get Lucky' told The Offical Charts Company that a studio session with Guetta was "unbelievable".
“Last night I was working with David Guetta writing a song. It was unbelievable, we went until 2 in the morning, and Arthur Baker and Taylor Dayne popped by - it felt like it was if we were back in the 80s," Rodgers said.
"We laughed and said, ‘If this was the old days, we would take this rough mix and rush down to Paradise Garage and play it, see how it worked on the crowd before we finished the record.’"
As usual, his inimitable conversational style makes the whole situation sound utterly fantastic and touched by more than a little dance music magic.
We already know that Rodgers had been working with Avicii (who he reckons is a "genius writer") and Chase & Status, so a collaboration with Guetta would be another power move for Rodgers, who's definitely a man in demand right now. Will this lead to another Number One for the king of disco?
Rodgers also revealed he's rediscovered some lost Chic music. Interesting indeed...
